Polly Mayer

Learning Specialist

Polly Mayer was a classroom teacher at Walden for twenty-six years. She now works as Walden’s learning specialist. Polly is also the clinic director at Raskob Learning Institute. She graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in Classics and English, received her multisubject teaching credential from Mills College in Oakland, and her master’s in educational therapy from Holy Names University in Oakland. She has a special interest in how neuroscience research supports Walden’s approach to hands-on learning.

Both of Polly’s daughters attended Walden: one graduated from the University of Chicago with honors and is currently attending law school, and the other is a senior at Beloit College in Wisconsin.
