Extended Day Care
Matt Takimoto grew up in El Cerrito, attending Castro Elementary and Portola Middle School before graduating from El Cerrito High School in 2005. He went on to study music from the University of Oregon, playing trumpet in the marching band for four years and serving as musical director of the school’s Green Garter Band in 2008-9. He is also the charter president of the UO band department’s Kappa Kappa Psi chapter. His summer vacations were spent working at KCC Summer Day Camp in Kensington, CA, and his work there inspired him to pursue a career in education. After finishing his senior thesis, an analysis of the musical elements of Parliament-Funkadelic and their implementation in gangsta rap, he graduated with a BS in music, and is excited to be starting his real life journey at Walden!
His hobbies include cooking (and eating), playing golf, and scouring the Internet for the latest and funniest time-waster. He is a die-hard sports fan, particularly for his Oregon Ducks and the San Francisco Giants. He can juggle, wiggle his ears, and do really good impersonations of Elmo and Forrest Gump.
