Beth BaughBeth was thrilled to join the staff of Walden Center & School in the fall of 2013, as the Middle Group language arts and social studies teacher. She received her BA in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont, and her CA Teaching Credential with Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development (BCLAD) Spanish emphasis from San Francisco State University. Since beginning her teaching career in 1996, she has taught first through fifth grades as well as kindergarten through eighth grade Spanish. Most recently, she come from teaching Spanish at Archway’s lower and upper schools. Prior to that, she spent eleven years teaching elementary grades at Windrush and five years as a bilingual elementary teacher at Bessie Carmichael in San Francisco. She loves to create music and released her first CD, Unlimited Vision: Dreams from Beyond the Blind Side, in 2013. She brings songwriting into the classroom whenever possible, sharing music that supports the curriculum and collaborating on new songs with her students. Beth enjoys reading and writing, making her garden thrive, and spending time with her son. Interacting with children, facilitating experiences that help them discover how the world works and their important place in it, wondering and discovering with them, are some of her greatest joys.
