Who We Are

We are a group of teachers and parents who have created an environment where children take an active role in their own learning and where arts and creative expression are a part of every child’s education, every day.

Everything about Walden is unique. From the way we approach learning to the way we structure our governing board, we have a unique approach which is informed by our philosophy, our history, and our mission, all of which you can learn more about in this section.

Awards & Memberships

Walden received the 2009 and 2010 East Bay Express Best Progressive Arts & Academics Program award and the 2009-2011 Best K-12 Teacher award.

Walden is a member of the East Bay Independent Schools Association (EBISA) and is a Bay Area Certified Green Business.
