Welcome to Walden’s 2008 Summer Camp! Our talented and experienced teaching staff has planned five weeks of creative activities. We plan each day to ensure a balance of free play and directed activities. Our program includes many art activities, science, investigation of thematic topics, field trips, dramatic play, games, and swimming every Thursday at Strawberry Canyon Pool.
Week One,
June 16 - June 20
Get ready for a week-long birthday party! Party games and party tricks, yes there will be birthday cake, too. We’ll have a variety of party themes including a slumber party, a swim party, and a costume party.
Week Two,
June 23 – June 27
Move over Thomas Keller, our executive chefs Chez Walden have many creative recipes bursting from their aprons! We’ll wake up our appetites reading many restaurant menus and cookbooks. We will share favorite family food traditions. Consider some “antique” and historical recipes. We will design our own ultimate restaurant and invite families to the grand opening. A wee bit of etiquette (good manners) will be considered as well, how to dine in public and what makes a star server.
Week Three,
June 30 - July 3
(4 day week, fees adjusted)
Make & fly kites, build small airplanes and paper rockets (yes they fly!) make your own “art car”, ugly dolls and puppets!
Week Four,
July 7 – 11
What is Jeopardy? Family Feud? Waldenopoly? Board games, action games, tricycle races, rescue rider obstacle courses! This is going to be sooooo much fun! An array of bizarre field games for our Field Day in Tilden Park.
Week Five,
July 14 – 18
...of all sorts! Paper houses, wooden boats, aluminum foil towers, tooth pick bridges. We will create an ephemeral (temporary) city. We will make sand castles, play dough volcanoes, mud mountains, flower gardens, mini garden mazes.

Cost is $235 per week, field trip fees included
(with one restaurant exception)

Enrollment is limited. Registration begins immediately and is on a first come, first served basis when your form is returned with a deposit check. You will be notified of admission or of waiting list status.
Please fill out the form and return it to Walden with a $100 non-refundable deposit per child per session. This deposit is applicable to your full fee. Please make checks payable to Walden Foundation. The balance must be paid in full by FRIDAY, MAY 30, or your place may be given to a wait-listed applicant.
