Movie Screening: Audrey Film and Filmmaker Q&A

February 1, 2019, 7pm

Location: Walden Center and School

Filmmakers Coleman and Shelly Romalis will be joining us for this special 60th anniversary screening of Audrey, the film.

In this documentary, we track Audrey Goodfriend, 90 years old in 2010, from her early years in the secular Yiddish Sholem Aleichem co-op houses in the Bronx, New York to the progressive oasis of Berkeley, California. The film tells of one woman’s lifelong experiences as an internationally-oriented anarchist and her struggles with the complex relationship between deeply-held political values and personal feelings. As a founder of Walden Center and School in Berkeley, she was able to realize one of her life dreams about making an impact in this world. In this intimate portrait, Audrey, along with her family and friends, reflects on love, religion, education, and radicalism.

Suggested donation $10.
