Fundraising Events | Give Online | Other Ways to Support Walden

The Walden Community plans a variety of fundraising projects to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual operating costs. The main beneficiary of our fundraising efforts is the Outreach Scholarship Program. These scholarships ensure that the Walden Community reflects the ethnic, cultural and economic diversity of the greater East Bay community.

Fundraising Events
The Walden Spring Fair is one of our major fundraisers and a tradition begun over forty years ago. Activities include a book sale, a raffle, an ethnic luncheon, and sales of arts and crafts, baked goods and plants.

The Walden Annual Giving Fund is a campaign which solicits donations from all current and past members of the Walden Community

The Walden Annual Wine Tasting is a gala event featuring wine-tasting, delicious foods, an auction, and live music.

Other fundraising events include garage sales, a photo benefit, and a variety of smaller events.

Enrollment into these programs only takes a few minutes and provides financial support to our Outreach Scholarship Fund. By enrolling, Walden School receives financial support from businesses throughout the year that is EFFORTLESS and FREE of charge to you. Please pass this message on to any of your friends and family who might also want to support the quality arts based education received at Walden.

eScrip
Earn up to 10% of every purchase at participating stores for Walden School by registering your credit/debit cards with eScrip. If you ever buy anything at Safeway, Andronico's, Whole Foods, Pet Food Express, OfficeMax, Big 5, Payless Shoes, Goodman's Building Supply, Working Assets Long Distance, Budget Rent A Car, and many other stores, restaurants and services, you can be earning money for Walden. If you have a Washington Mutual Visa check card, register it and earn a point for every purchase you make with the card. At the end of the year Washington Mutual converts your points into a cash donation to Walden. This is on top of any rebates you earn through eScrip!

Albertson's Community Partners Card
Get a Community Partners Card from Walden School’s Administrative Coordinator Nicole Harris. Have it scanned by the cashier at Albertsons and Walden receives a rebate from your purchase.

Berkeley Bowl & 5 Star Video Scrip
Buy as much scrip as you want and use it to pay for groceries or videos at either of these locations and earn up to 10% back for Walden School. Scrip is on sale every Friday morning at the Walden School gate for both Berkeley Bowl and 5 Star Video. Parent Vicki Edge is the person to see on Fridays.
