Admissions Process
We welcome inquiries about admissions at any time. Our formal admissions season is complete, so although the process below applies, the dates do not. Please contact VickiLee Edge at admissions@walden-school.net for information about limited openings for 2012-13.
Here are the steps for finding out more about and applying to Walden. Our fall 2012 tour dates will be available in August 2012.
1. Sign up for a tour and/or information session
Tours are held on most Tuesday mornings, October through December, with supplementary dates in January as needed. Information sessions are held on two Saturday afternoons, November 12, 2011 and January 28, 2012.

2. Complete an application and include $65.00 fee
Applications will also be available at tours. We have a courtesy application due date on Friday, December 16, 2011 and a final due date of Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
Walden will accept and consider applications after this deadline, but will give preference to applications filed by the deadline.
3. Ask a current teacher to fill out a recommendation form
Walden uses the standard East Bay Independent Schools Association (EBISA) recommendation forms. If your child is home schooled, an adult or mentor who has worked academically with your child in a group setting can fill out the form. These forms also have a courtesy due date of Friday, December 16, 2011 and final due date of Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

4. If applying for financial aid, complete BOTH applications
The Walden financal aid application is due January 13, 2012. The online SSS application is due February 8, 2012.

5. Child visit
Once we receive an application, we will schedule an observational child visit. Your child will be invited to participate in a classroom environment for approximately one hour. We do not administer any readiness tests.
6. Notification of admissions decisions
Decision letters will be mailed to applicant families on March 8, 2012. This date is the same for all East Bay Independent Schools Association members.
7. Enrollment contracts and payments due March 15, 2012
